A female who suffered daily abuse by her boyfriend and attempted to escape by seeking asylum in the United States, views her situation as hopeless since Attorney General Sessions has renounced domestic violence being a reason for granting asylum to battered women. Should we arbitrarily rule out these women’s claims just because they are attempting to enter the country? There should be other means to handling these cases especially with regards to domestic violence/sexual assault. Women being denied asylum and deported back to their homeland would in some cases (as all stories may not be true) potentially put these women in grave danger. Should we devalue these women because they are seeking asylum? Is there any worth to their lives? #Theirlivesmattertoo
