Gender disparity agriculture

A problem that I don’t see brought up often enough is the horrible disparity between men and women in agriculture. In our always modernizing American society I feel a though sometimes we can lose sight of certain things such as the people who make our easily accessible market bought food so easily accessible. Agricultural fields are just another of many walks of life in which women constantly get dealt an unfair hand due to societal stigma and prejudice. Despite making up almost half of the agricultural workforce women are still treated poorly when it comes to issues like land ownership and financial assistance, but by far one of the most pressing issues women end up facing in this field is the “knowledge gap” which forms due to discrimination and lack of resources when it comes to education for women in these fields. These formed knowledge gaps are even more prevalent in other countries where discrimination against women is even more prevalent. In good news there are organizations all around the world that are now focusing on these women who want to become more knowledgable in these fields and are improving women chances and conditions in the agricultural field.
