I chose to write this post on the violence in the foster care system since my research paper will be on that. Violence in the foster care system is something that is very well known but most everyone, but it’s something that’s always overlooked. Children of all ages experience mental, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse in multiple homes; this often leads to a life of crime, acting out sexually, and long-term mental issues. This article talks about the domestic abuse in foster homes as well as the statistics on the abuse and the developmental issues brings up. I feel that the issues with the foster care system ties in with the abortion ban, since many young women are having to give up their children for a better life but end up placing them in a twisted system that doesn’t truly care about the wellbeing of the children.
