On Monday, April 29, the ILKIS team presented to Pitt County’s elected officials at Sheppard Memorial Library in Greenville. Dr. Terry Atkinson and Dr. Elizabeth Swaggerty from the research team, alongside Dr. Ron Mitchelson, ECU Provost, presented about Imagination Library and preliminary research findings. Following the presentation, there were many questions and suggestions about how to spread Imagination Library and a culture of literacy throughout Pitt County. The research team and officials were also able to tour Sheppard Memorial Library’s new book mobile. The Pitt County Bookmobile is celebrating 70 years of bringing books to citizens in Pitt County.
