Book of the Month!

Did your child find “Miss Maple’s Seeds” by Eliza Wheeler in the mail this month?

This pretty picture book introduces the sweet, nature-loving Miss Maple, who celebrates the growth and life in each seed.

Miss Maple gathers any seeds who are lost and haven’t found a good place to grow. She teaches them, nurtures them, and keeps them safe until they are ready to grow into beautiful plants. Follow Miss Maple and her seeds through every season and enjoy the illustrations with your child!

Try some of these suggestions found on the back flap of your Imagination Library book:

Starting Up: Read the title out loud. Ask your child to point Miss Maple and express surprise that she is riding on a flower!

Reading the Story: Compare activities Miss Maple and the animals do each season with some of your own family traditions each season.

After the Story: Ask your child questions about the story. Have you ever planted a seed like Miss Maple did? How do you think Miss Maple felt when she let her seeds go?

Visit a park or garden. Remind your child that the tall trees and pretty flowers once started as tiny seeds.
