Book of the Month!

Did your child receive “Baking Day at Grandma’s” by Anika Denise from Imagination Library this month?

In this family story, three little bear siblings can’t wait to walk through the snow to have a baking day with their Grandma. The bears and their grandma create the perfect wintry treat together, but are sure to add breaks for hot cocoa and dancing! The story concludes by showing that sweets are even better when they’re shared with others.

For the first time reading the story, curl up and read the book with your child. The next time you read, try some of these suggestions or the ones found in the back of your book!

Starting Up:  Talk about the cover together. Count the bears, name the utensils, or describe why the bears may use an apron.

Reading the Story: Have your child point to things in the story that show how the bears feel, like their happy smiles or loving hugs.

After the Story: Ask your child questions about the story. What season is it in the book? What do the bears wear to stay warm?
