Book of the Month!

Did your child find “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats in the mail this month?

In this story, a little boy shares the excitement and magic of the first snowfall of the year. He builds snowmen, makes snow angels, and even tries to bring snow home with him to enjoy! This version has both English and Spanish wording, so it is a great opportunity for your child to learn vocabulary in a new language.

Read this story together with your child in a comfortable place. Next time, try some of these suggestions:

Starting Up: Look at the cover together. Ask your child, “What is the little boy doing?”

Reading the Story: As you read, point to the pictures that show what Peter did in the snow. Has your child ever done any of them?

After the Story: Ask your child questions about the story. What did Peter do in the snow? What happened to the snow in Peter’s pocket?

Don’t forget the suggestions found in the back of your Imagination Library book!
