In this story, Vincent’s mom sends him to the store to pick up a few items before having tea. The list sounds easy enough, but there are distractions all along the way to the store, causing problems with Vincent’s memory. Vincent’s mom is in for quite a surprise when he returns home with the items on his grocery list!
For your first time reading this book, curl up and enjoy reading the book with your child. The next time you read it, try some of these suggestions.
Starting Up: Ask your child about the animals on the cover. What type are they? What are they doing?
Reading the Story: Each time the list is changed, ask your child if the list is correct. As a reminder, you can go back and reread what the list originally said.
After the Story: Ask you child questions about the story. What is one thing the boy was supposed to get? Did he come home with it? What did he come home with?
