Dr. Jason Perry, PhD, LCMHC

Dr. Perry is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Counselor Education Program in the Department of Interdisciplinary Professions at East Carolina University. He was the 2013 recipient of the Association for Humanistic Counseling’s (a division of the American Counseling Association) distinguished Emerging Leader Award and is an active member of the North Carolina Counseling Association.

Postmodern and constructivist career strategies for community ex-offenders are at the center of his current research interests. Dr. Perry has written on these topics, as well as presented at the state, national, and international levels. Dr. Perry embraces values of the humanistic psychology of Alfred Adler and Carl Rogers, which emphasize person-centeredness, the importance of the therapeutic alliance, and unconditional positive regard.


Becca Norman

Graduate Assistant & Intern

Becca Norman is a graduate student in the Rehabilitation Counseling program at East Carolina University. She is completing her internship at McClammy Counseling and Research Laboratory and Mane Source Counseling. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Appalachian State University in theatre with a concentration in performance.

Becca uses a primarily strengths-based and person-centered approach but tailors each session to the specific needs of each client. Becca specializes in working with vocational issues and people with disabilities. She especially enjoys helping others discover and develop their self-esteem, strengths and talents. Her desire for her clients is to experience all the fullness that life has to offer, assisting them in finding ways to achieve healing, peace, joy and fulfillment.

Becca will graduate with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and a certificate in Military and Trauma Counseling in May 2023 and will be pursuing her Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) credentials.
