Services

The McClammy Counseling and Research Laboratory (MCRL) is an on-campus counseling instruction space (Ragsdale 118, 118A and 120) that is used to provide individual and group counseling, consultation and as a hub for outreach development for students in the ECU community. The services provided in this counseling laboratory are distinctly different from services provided through the Center for Counseling and Student Development.

The services that McClammy offers include:

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling offers a one-on one service in which clients focus on their personal issues and struggles. Counselors create an open non-judgmental environment to allow clients to examine their personal distress and gain skills to improve their lives.

Group Counseling

Group counseling offers an interpersonal approach to personal growth. Counselors facilitate an environment that encourages group members to create relationships and share feedback with one another. We offer a variety of wellness programs and drop-in groups for our students, which include topics such as:

  • Coping with Stress
  • Yoga/Mindfulness/Meditation
  • Study Skills
  • Time Management
  • Self-care
  • Career Development

Referrals

Counseling services are free for all members of the community. Community members may self-refer or be referred by another counselor, clinician, instructor, physician, or provider. To make a referral or to schedule an intake please call 252-737-4803 or contact us by email at mcclammylab@ecu.edu
