PROF. HUGH LEE presented an invited lecture entitled “Paying for Long-Term Care: Coordination of Long-Term Care Insurance Benefits and Medicaid Benefits” to members of the Alabama State Bar at an Elder Law Seminar sponsored by the University of Alabama School of Law on Friday, March 3^rd, 2023.

The talk focused on financing seniors’ long-term care needs and coordinating long-term care insurance benefits and Medicaid benefits to produce the most benefit to seniors while preserving their assets.

Prof. Hugh Lee presented an invited lecture to the North Carolina Bar Association’s 27th Annual Elder and Special Needs Law Symposium in Greensboro, NC on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 entitled “The State of the Union: A Discussion of U.S. Public Policy on Aging.” The talk addressed six different areas of public policy which are failing to meet the needs of elders – health care access, long-term care access and financing, affordable housing, retirement income, protective services, and overall economic policy. The talk also addressed projected population patterns and how those patterns impact the viability of current public policy initiatives.

A former Political Science major, Morgan “Lea” Nobles, has recently been selected as Managing Editor of the Florida State University Law Review.

This is a tremendous honor and likely indicates that she is one of the top students in her class.
