Dr. J.C. (Chris) Mizelle holds BS (2000) and MA (2003) degrees from East Carolina University focused in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics, and a PhD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine focused in Neuromotor Control (2008). He received Post-doctoral training at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2008 – 2011) and later served as a Research Scientist at the Atlanta VA Medical Center (2011 – 2015). After this, he moved “home” to join the Kinesiology faculty at East Carolina University in August of 2015. Click here for a current CV.
Dr. Mizelle is currently an Associate Professor and is the Director of the Sensory-Motor Integration Lab (SMILe) at ECU. His background is in movement neuroscience, and his current research uses neuroimaging techniques to understand neurobiological function across a range of topic areas. Dr. Mizelle has also been a part of the Eastern Carolina Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (ECCSfN) since joining ECU as a faculty member, and is currently serving as the Vice President and President-Elect of the organization, after having previously served as Secretary and as a General Council Member.
