DB Spotlight: Krystal Cooper, Nationally Certified Intervener

Krystal Cooper has been working with DeafBlind students for 16 years. She decided to pursue DeafBlind intervener national certification because it would open job opportunities for her. During the process, she enjoyed taking pictures and videos of her students and creating portfolio artifacts. The portfolio gave her an inside look at the impact an intervener can make on DeafBlind students. She was able to analyze and learn what were the best practices for DeafBlind individuals while aligning with the DeafBlind standards. This process allowed her to grow professionally as an intervener and maintain a level of professionalism. When she completed the DeafBlind intervener national certification, she gained a sense of accomplishment along with confidence as an intervener. She is thankful to all the people who supported her through the program and encourages anyone who wants to learn more about being a DeafBlind intervener to complete this wonderful national certification program.

Thank you Krystal for all of your hard work and dedication to individuals with DeafBlindness!
