Calendars & Schedules

Anticipation calendars (object or calendar boxes) help learners with deafblindness prepare for what will happen next. Therefore it is especially important to use objects that are meaningful to the individual. For example, a cup or spoon may be used to indicate time to eat. Calendars are also used to teach concepts using meaningful, highly motivating activities.

Types of calendars include:

  1. Anticipation calendars address the ‘now’.
  2. Daily calendars address what will happen during the day.
  3. Expanded Calendars (weekly or monthly) address what will happen during the extended future.
