Chelsea Curry is a BS Environmental Health (BSEH ’13) and, very recently, a MS Environmental Health (MSEH ’17) alumna. In 2013, she started working as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator at Hillshire Brands in Tarboro, NC, which was eventually bought by Tyson Foods, Inc. Her main job function then was to manage the safety program elements in order to maintain compliance with the NC Department of Labor (NCDOL), Department of Transportation (DOT), and NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) requirements for a World Class Commercial Bakery.
During recent months, Chelsea has transitioned from her role as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator to a Safety Supervisor. She is now responsible for managing and tracking multiple programs, including machine guarding and hazard communication. Chelsea also has a close working relationship with the Occupational Health Nurses at her plant, which led to her participation in their most recent health fair held on March 30, 2017.
