Sarah Bajwa (MSEH 2015) is currently working for the City of New York’s Department of Health, within the Environmental Health Assessment and Communication unit, as an Environmental and Occupational Health Scientist. As a current project, she collects air samples in residential areas co-located with a dry cleaning establishment for chemical solvents, such as perchloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE) to determine the necessity to close down the facility. Sarah is also responsible in checking grass yield in parks located in areas built on brownfield sites to determine whether children will be allowed to play in the park or not (i.e., not if not enough grass cover). In addition, she performs literature reviews for her colleagues on environmental health topics, such as lead, mold and asbestos.
