BS Environmental Health Student in CDC Summer Internship

BS Environmental Health student, Alexis Parale, spends her summer in the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Summer Program in Environmental Health (SUPEH) in Atlanta, GA.  SUPEH is a paid 9-week internship for current students majoring in an EHAC-accredited environmental health program, wherein interns gain environmental health experience and an understanding of environmental health work at the local, state, tribal and federal levels.

As part of her internship, Alexis recently attended an Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response (EHTER) Operations Course in Anniston, AL.  The EHTER course was taught by ECU BSEH alumnus and retired CDC Environmental Health Scientist, CAPT Mike Herring.  Alexis will be giving a presentation on EHTER Operations at the end of her internship.
