EH Faculty and DrPH Student Receive SCAHIP Research Grants

EH faculty, Drs. Jo Anne Balanay and Stephanie Richards, and DrPH student, Danielle Carter, were informed this week that they will be receiving pilot funding for 2 separate research projects through the Southeast Center for Agricultural Health and Injury Prevention (SCAHIP) during this 2018-2019 cycle.  The amount of $11,999 will be awarded to each of the following projects:

  • “Reliability of Mobile Apps as Alternative Exposure Assessment Methods for Heat Stress and Solar Ultraviolet Radiation in Agricultural Settings in Eastern North Carolina” – Dr. Jo Anne Balanay (lead PI) and Danielle Carter (co-PI)
  • “Risk Assessment for Arbovirus Exposure at Horse Farms in North Carolina” – Dr. Stephanie Richards (PI)
