Ask Miss Liza: Ho Ho Ho… Recycle!

Dear Miss Liza,

Merry Christmas to you! I truly believe Santa, the Elves and Mrs. Claus practice recycling. The wrapping paper, packaging, cards, bows, letters to the North Pole, etc.… that’s a huge amount of waste!  Anyone that makes a list and checks it twice, to find out whose naughty or nice must recycle!  This is Santa Claus after all… the  “red-suited dude with a friendly attitude”!  Do you know if they recycle at the North Pole?

Ask Miss LizaTabitha,

Merry Christmas to you as well! Of course, Santa recycles! Remember… ”He sees you when you’re sleeping… He knows when you’re awake”… (kinda scary when you think about it… I’m just saying!) It is important to always recycle your old Christmas trees, lights, and any other Christmas ornaments or decorations you may have. Did you know fish and wildlife benefit from natural Christmas Trees after the holidays? Sunk into private fish ponds, trees make an excellent refuge and feeding area for fish. You can also place the Christmas tree in the garden or backyard, and use it as a bird feeder and sanctuary. Natural Christmas trees are biodegradable; its branches may be removed, chipped, and used as mulch in the garden.

Contact the City Waste Management & Recycling Center for details on pickup and recycling of natural and artificial trees, lights and decorations.

Merry Christmas and to all a Good Night!

Miss Liza

P.S. My favorite reindeer is Randolph!
