NEHA Celebrates Earth Day 2021

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) is partnering with ecoAmerica and their Climate for Health program in celebrating Earth Day 2021. As Earth Day marks its 51st anniversary on April 22nd, NEHA will host a Climate Justice Twitter Chat today from 1:00–2:00 PM EDT.

Environmental health professionals work closely with their communities to ensure the safety of the resources we rely on every day, from the air we breathe to the food we eat and the water we drink. These resources are being affected by climate change, the greatest threat to global health. Climate change affects human health through air quality, extreme heat, drought, wildfires, extreme storms, floods, vector borne illnesses, and changing local weather patterns. Thus, it is important to initiate a conversation about how climate impacts justice and health and what can we do to fight the effects of climate change and build resilience.
