The COVID-19 pandemic provides an important reminder that hand hygiene, especially through handwashing with soap, is one of the most effective and also one of the simplest ways to stop the spread of a virus. Handwashing with soap must be a priority now and in the future to beat the virus today and ensure better health outcomes beyond this pandemic. Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together is this year’s theme, which calls for coordinated action as we actively work toward universal hand hygiene.
