Dr. Jo Anne Balanay, as a member of the AIHA Climate Change Adaptation Task Force, contributed to the recently published technical framework titled, “Climate Change Adaptation for OEHS Professionals”. The framework consists of six main sections that categorize the OEHS hazards into the following: (1) emerging hazards, (2) chemical hazards, (3) biological hazards, (4) physical hazards, (5) psychosocial hazards, and (6) hazards associated with climate-related emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. This framework can be used to identify and understand the areas of expertise needed to assess climate change-related occupational hazards.
