World Environmental Health Day

September 26, 2023

The ECU Environmental Health Sciences Program will be joining this year for the sixth time in the celebration of the World Environmental Health Day (WEHD) on September 26.  This year’s theme is “Global Environmental Public Health: Standing Up to Protect Everyone’s Health Each and Every Day”. We invite you to participate in our planned activities:

1) E-Poster display – We will be posting electronic posters from students and faculty on the EH blog starting September 25. We would like to invite you to have faculty or student posters about environmental health (EH) issues displayed on that day.  These posters may be about an EH-related research, or a non-research poster for increasing awareness on a specific EH topic.  If interested to participate, please email Dr. Jo Anne Balanay (balanayj@ecu.edu) the poster title and the abstract (for research posters) or a brief description (for non-research posters).  Please limit the abstract or description to 250 words. The e-poster must be submitted by Sept. 22, 2023.

2) EH selfie – We invite students to take a selfie in front or with something that is EH related.  Selfies must be posted on either Facebook or Instagram using #ECUEnvironmentalHealth by Sept. 22, 2023.  Submitted selfies will be downloaded and developed into a selfie e-poster that will be displayed on the EH blog on Sept. 26, 2023. Please see attached flyer for the guidelines.

For more information, please contact Dr. Jo Anne Balanay (balanayj@ecu.edu).
