Dr. Stephanie Richards posted a Terminix blog this week on centipedes and millipedes, and their leg movements. Centipedes and millipedes are arthropods that possess several legs, some up to 300 legs depending on the species. Dr. Richards described how these arthropods coordinate their leg movements, and how scientists study their locomotion and maneuverability using centipede-like robots. She also explained how centipede and millipedes affect humans as related to their defense behaviors.
