Guest Blog Contributor: Dean Ricken* (BSEH ’16)

Elijah Wood graduated from ECU’s BS Environmental Health program in 2017. Following graduation, Elijah was a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) at multiple health departments in North Carolina from January 2018 to March 2022. In April 2022, Elijah started his current role at J.S. Held LLC in Wilmington, North Carolina. Elijah, who has worked with the company for almost a year, is primarily involved in litigation support, emergency response, and industrial hygiene monitoring in various workplace environments. Elijah is passionate about gaining more experience in the EHS field and professional development. Elijah is working towards the ultimate goal of sitting for his Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) exam.

In his spare time, Elijah enjoys outdoor activities with his family and fishing along the Intracoastal Waterway in North Carolina.
