During the trip we will conduct a four or five days of fieldwork on historic shipwreck sites, World War II forts and radar stations, and a military cemetery. Other hands-on activities include inventories of cultural landscape icons in the seaport of Simons Town including buildings, artwork, monuments, and statutes. Students will learn basic site assessment methods in cultural resource management of historic sites.
