Well, I am now a certified Scientific Diver!
This video is my first experience with a GoPro and with underwater videography. It was filmed during our Scientific Diving check-outs with East Carolina University Diving and Water Safety, required for the ECU Program in Maritime Studies.
We went diving for a week at Fantasy Lake, a flooded rock quarry in Zebulon, North Carolina. The dives gave us the opportunity to practice skills that will be useful in field school and in our future careers. We practiced underwater navigation, data recording, diving in a full face-mask, drysuit diving, and search and recovery methods.
Unfortunately, the footage only reflects periods of time when my group (1 of 4) was not task loaded and busy practicing skills, but it shows some of the exercises and the conditions we handled (and some of the fun we had along the way!).
