The Global Fund for Children (GFC) envisions a world where children grow up to be productive, caring citizens of our global society. GFC advances the education and dignity of young people around the world through its grantmaking program, which funds community-based organizations that focus on the health, rights, and development of children and youth in four major issue areas: Learning, Enterprise, Healthy Minds & Bodies, and Safety. Beyond providing financial support, GFC works to leverage additional support on behalf of its grantee partners, to promote sharing of knowledge and creation of networks, and to provide organizational development assistance.

PURPOSE
GFC is seeking a college student or recent graduate to intern with the manager of digital media projects to support the organization’s digital media endeavors. The selected candidate will work closely with a small, energetic team to enhance GFC’s digital media efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
GFC is looking for an intern with a combination of skills in video editing, graphic design, and web development. This person will assist the communications team with a wide variety of projects, including creating content for and updating GFC’s website as needed, working on the graphic design of e-newsletters, and assisting with video production. This is a paid internship that provides opportunities for the intern to research, learn, gain hands-on experience, and grow within the digital media arena, thereby helping to jump-start his or her career. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to work with people dedicated to the mission of serving vulnerable children. Due to the nature of the internship, GFC is looking for a candidate with a wide range of skills.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
• Communications skills
o Good writing and editing skills
o Familiarity with social media

• Software and Internet marketing knowledge
o Knowledge of photo-editing software, such as Photoshop
o Knowledge of InDesign to help create brochures and marketing materials
o Knowledge and experience with SEO and Google AdWords
o Familiarity preferred with movie-editing software, such as Final Cut Pro

HOURS
Part-time during regular business hours (hours negotiable).

START DATE
Immediately.
