2) Marketing/Communications Internship:
The marketing/communications internship program introduces college students to careers in the public relations, community relations, media relations and marketing field. Interns will gain hands-on experience while working in the communications department and will also assist with event preparation and game day duties. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with professionals in the field while gaining networking opportunities for the future. The Tampa Sports Authority offers a one-year (13-months) marketing/communications assistant internship.
Year-long internship (13-months) from May 2011 to June 2012
The position requires the interns to perform the following duties:
Conduct tours of the stadium
 
 
Compile information and edit the copy for stadium publications
Update tour confirmation sheets and conduct tour evaluations Create and edit website copy to be placed on the Tampa Sports Authority website
(Raymond James Stadium Guide, Accessibility Guide, Tour Brochures, Golf Brochures, etc.)  
 
Compile specific event information Develop and conduct operational surveys

Update board meeting schedules  
 
Surveys include Customer Evaluations, procedures of NFL stadiums and golf surveys Assist with game day operations
Assist all customer service needs including guest services, phone calls, emails, etc.
Develop and maintain stadium reports
Assist with the marketing of the golf courses and all stadium events

Compile and present survey results Work stadium events
Other duties as requested
Including Monster Jam, American Invitational, NFL and college football, concerts, etc. Qualifications:
Candidates should be graduating seniors or graduate level students with a minimum 3.0 GPA in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or related business classes. The student must possess excellent writing, copyediting, and public speaking skills. In addition to strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, the candidates must have a working knowledge of WordPerfect, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet. An individual with a strong PR background who works well in a teamwork environment is preferred. The intern must be willing to relocate to Tampa if they are not currently residing in the area.
Compensation:
The one-year intern is paid approximately $1,200 per month with an additional $130.00 for each event worked.
Benefits:
Interns receive time off from work as follows:
a one year intern receives six days of paid time off (vacation/sick leave)
a summer intern receives one day of time off (vacation/sick leave)
