The Tampa Sports Authority (TSA) is a quasi government agency that operates and manages Raymond James Stadium and three City of Tampa golf courses. The communications department is seeking two candidates to fill annual internship positions that are currently available.
1) The visual communications internship program introduces college students to careers in the graphic arts, web design, photography, marketing, media, and public relations field. Interns will gain hands-on experience during the Tampa Sports Authority’s day to day operations and preparing for events, in addition to networking opportunities for candidates entering the workforce.
Visual Communications Internship: The Tampa Sports Authority offers a one-year (13-months) communications/graphic design assistant internship. Year-long internship (13-months) from May 2011 to June 2012.
The position requires the interns to perform the following duties: Design and create stadium publications. o Official Raymond James Stadium Guide, various brochures, advertisements, web banners, etc. Maintain the Tampa Sports Authority website (www.tampasportsauthority.com) o Update the website throughout the year. Updates include but are not limited to: Updating individual pages, creating new content (flash elements, banner ads), uploading new Youtube videos, keeping the photo gallery up to date, and posting new bids (.pdf /.doc files) to the Procurement Services page We do not use a WYSIWYG editor or a Content Management System Experience with FileTransfer Protocol (FileZilla), Dreamweaver, and/or XsitePro is preferred Update the Tampa Sports Authority’s social media pages: Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Youtube Maintain the TSA photo library Maintain and design the golf and event calendars Conduct tours of the stadium Assist with game day operations Assist with the marketing of the golf courses and all stadium events o Including Monster Jam, American Invitational, NFL and college football, concerts, etc. Work stadium events
Other duties as requested Qualifications: The candidate should be a graduating senior or a graduate level student with a minimum 3.0 GPA in visual communications, graphic design, marketing, or journalism. The student must possess excellent graphic design, writing, and photography skills. In addition to strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, the candidate must have a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and WordPerfect. Basic knowledge of HTML code and Flash is preferred. The intern must be willing to relocate to Tampa if they are not currently residing in the area.
Compensation: The one-year intern is paid approximately $1,200 per month with an additional $130.00 for each event worked. Benefits: Interns receive time off from work as follows: A one year intern receives six days of paid time off (vacation/sick leave)
