DOCUMENTARY FILM INTERNSHIP
Emmy Award winning documentary film company seeking interns to assist during the pre and post production of several upcoming projects.
Since its founding in 1989, Steeplechase Films has produced some of the most celebrated and award-winning historical and biographical works on television, including the recent film, INTO THE DEEP: AMERICA, WHALING & THE WORLD, as well as EUGENE O’NEILL and ANDY WARHOL; and the 8-part epic, NEW YORK: A DOCUMENTARY FILM.
Internship responsibilities include:
• Assist in day-to-day operations and functions of a small office
• Responsible for phone & written correspondence
• Create and maintain organized production notebooks for all projects
• Coordinate local and long distance shoots- hire crew, rent equipment, get releases
• Make necessary travel arrangements
• Assist with research on upcoming projects
• Organize footage/visual research
• Assist bookkeeper in processing bills and other light filing
• Troubleshoot office systems and equipment
Internship candidates should have a strong working knowledge of office systems and computer programs, particularly Microsoft Office, Excel, and Filemaker Pro. Familiarity Final Cut Pro is a plus. A desire to learn the craft of historical documentary filmmaking is essential!
