Public Communications Intern
Serves as student trainee in the Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP). This program integrates on-the-job training with pertinent education. As a Student Trainee having completed a minimum of two full academic years of study leading to a bachelor’s degree in the field of journalism, mass communications, public relations, or similar curriculum related to the Public Affairs or Public Relations career field, participates in on-the-job training program involving concurrent or alternating periods of planned work experience and related study. While on the job, works under the guidance of Public Affairs personnel in such tasks as writing, editing, photography, and allied fields, performing the more basic assignments of the function. Participates in research and information collection for specific writing assignments and performs other similar tasks to learn the basic methods, procedures and techniques of the public affairs function. 100% Performs other duties as assigned.
Timeframe of internship is March through August 2011 with most positions beginning following the spring semester.
Minimum time required on site is 120 work hours.
