Pottery Barn Kids/PBteen is offering an exciting and fast-paced 10 week paid summer internship at our San Francisco headquarters. Intern will spend the 10 weeks working closely with the PR team. In addition to some daily tasks, intern will have the opportunity to work on an expansive project throughout the summer.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Assist with executing media requests from newspapers and magazines. Primarily handle image requests and also process stock withdrawals for product samples as needed.
Track media placements in newspapers, magazines, broadcast and online/blogs by maintaining a coverage spreadsheet and cross-referencing media hits once publications are printed. Maintain files of top hits, updating it weekly.
Create and update short lead (newspaper), long lead (magazine), regional magazines, broadcast and online/blog press lists for seasonal mailings and targeted pitches.
Assist with creation of seasonal press mailings for Pottery Barn Kids, and/or PBteen (Gathering pricing, product information, etc.)
Coordinate product sample returns by checking the sample room on a daily basis and returning photo samples as needed.
Respond to inquiries regarding partnerships, sponsorships, advertising, etc after reviewing the opportunity.
Skills/Qualifications:
Internship experience in public relations, advertising or marketing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
Experience using Cision/Media Map database is a plus
Strong communication skills – written and verbal
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet deadlines in a fast paced working environment.
Strong attention to detail
High level of organizational skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Prefer undergraduate students in their junior year studying Communication, Public Relations or Marketing
