About Business group or Product
The Yahoo! Small Business team seeks a results-driven, innovative, creative, and self-motivated intern to join the team. In this role, you will be expected to provide support for programs designed to educate current Yahoo! Small Business customers. Your focus will be in assisting with the planning, marketing and engaging with partners and customers for two major annual events – Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition in June and the Yahoo! Merchant Summit in August. You will assist in development and execution of effective event marketing programs and find creative solutions for increasing customer and partner engagement at these events. Youll also have the opportunity for exposure to a variety of marketing areas within the Yahoo! Small Business team including customer acquisition and awareness.
You will be an exceptional project manager with strong organization and communication skills as it will be critical to your success. You will be required to work cross-functionally with teams across the company, including business development, product management, product marketing, sales, and legal. You will also collaborate closely with marketers in the Yahoo! Small Business division and across the company.
Job Responsibilities/The Role/The Job
- Develop and execute cutting-edge social media marketing programs to increase customer and partner engagement during and after events.
- Assist in set up and delivery of customer education programs through online channels, webinars and events.
- Drive the creation and execution of event communications and materials such as collateral, blog posts and promotional materials including event invitations and sponsorship kits.
- Effectively promote events to target audiences, and update content on event registration web site
- Schedule meetings, create, coordinate and manage internal team schedules for events.
- Assist in day-of-event activities including registration process management, customer relations, set-up and take-down and overall attending to customer needs making their experience an enjoyable one through strong customer satisfaction.
- Handle sponsorship fulfillment: invoicing, securing sponsor logos and ensuring placement, as appropriate, on all communications and materials as well as day of relations and logistics
- Analyze programs for effectiveness, conducting qualitative and quantitative post-event reporting and ROI analysis.
- Other Marketing tasks as needed within the Yahoo! Small Business team.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- UNDERGRADS ONLY
- Currently enrolled in bachelors degree program in Business or Marketing related field required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and proven problem-solving abilities
- Self starter and can-do attitude; entrepreneurial spirit with a high sense of accountability
- Detail-oriented, demonstrated management of project timelines, and able to prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines
- Competency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferable Job Qualifications
- Internet savvy and basic understanding of digital trends, especially social marketing trends
