Internship – Production Operations

Eligibility
You must be a currently enrolled college student in good academic standing; available for employment within 12 months of the internship. Graduation date of December 2011, May 2012 or August 2012.
Job Responsibilities
Technical operating positions in all phases of television for domestic and/or international production.
• Roles include, but are not limited to: server based non-linear edit, Master Control, videotape and/or media record and play out, studio cameras, video shading and more.
• Candidates must maintain knowledge of technical standards and information, operating systems, broadcast equipment, signal flow and distribution and applicable ESPN Technical Standard Operating Procedures.
• Other administrative duties often include daily shift reporting and required participation at periodic staff meetings.
• Additionally, stage manager or production Associate Directing roles may be offered.
Preferred Requirements
• Hands on experience in any of the studio or edit systems offered as well as campus control room operations and/or previous internship in operations.
• Communications, television production and/or electronic journalism backgrounds preferred.
• Solid written communication skills and computer literacy.
• Strong interest and desire in pursuing a career in an operations role
• Intern must be able to provide his/her own transportation to and from work
Internship Information
• 10 weeks; 40 hours/week
• Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
• Subsidized housing is available on a first come first serve basis for interns who live greater than 50 miles of work location
• Authorized to work in the United States for any company
