NBC Universal – Online Editorial Internship

NBCUniversal is one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global audience. NBCUniversal owns and operates a valuable portfolio of news and entertainment television networks, a premier motion picture company, significant television production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks. Our interns are unpaid and therefore must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in an Associate’s/Bachelor’s/Master’s program at an accredited college or university
  • 18 years or older
  • Able to provide proof of credit or a letter of support to receive academic credit from your college or university prior to starting assignment
  • Able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week for at least 12 weeks between the months of September – December.
    Candidates will be assessed on the following characteristics: a strong academic performance, community service, leadership experience, and a demonstrated interest in entertainment.

ONLINE EDITORIAL
Interns will provide general support for the staff at eonline.com, mystyle.com, and g4tv.com including writing, website maintenance, minor editing, image scanning, HTML and updating site content. Students will also assist with projects involving research, online chats, updating daily questions submitted to the site, and transcribing interviews with TV actors and producers. Students will learn the processes involved in content creation and development for online and television media.
 
Students should be in pursuit of a related degree, have related experience, or a strong interest in the field (Related fields include: Broadcast Journalism, Print or Online Journalism, English, Communications, TV/Radio/Film, Gaming, etc.); some opportunities desire candidates have prior internship or on-campus experience with news including research, writing, or producing experience. Other opportunities desire previous journalism or blogging experience. Editorial positions are in fields such as: diet/fitness, gaming, and celebrity news/gossip.
 
Students should have experience and interest in online media; an intense familiarity with social media is highly desired.
