Position Title: College of Education Communications Intern
Reports To: Director of Communications at the College of Education
Overview:
If you are interested in getting experience in a wide arrange of areas including social media, event planning, advertising campaigns, and college wide publications, then we have a spot for you! This ON CAMPUS internship opportunity is managed out of the very active communications office that is responsible for communicating with alumni, local media, and community members on a daily basis. The Director of Alumni Communications will work with potential interns to match their interests with the needs of the College of Education to determine a set of goals. Work schedule is flexible. Candidates must be willing to commit to a weekly schedule with a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities might include but not limited to:
- Managing the COE Facebook page with daily postings
- Assist in planning and executing 3-5 annual COE events
- Develop advertising campaign for various events and constituent groups
- Write, design, and produce College of Education newsletters and solicitation pieces
- Write, edit and distribute press releases to news media
- Design promotional pieces
- Create story boards for COE videos
- Arrange and manage COE photo shoots
- Research relevant school-related PR issues and best practices
