Job Description – Assistant Media Planner Title: Assistant Media PlannerDepartment: Connection Planning Supervisor: Media Planner Purpose: Assists in the development and execution of all media planning / buying-related functions, learn the basics. Responsibilities: Understands client objectives / strategies Demonstrates mastery of planning systems & tools, begin analysis of media opportunities, build plans based on direction from media planner / supervisor Manages plan stewardship / media billing process (generating insertion orders, reconciling billing discrepancies, tracking media expenditures to ensure budget compliance, etc.) Updates Client media activity flowcharts. Establishes productive working relationships with internal teams (e.g., account service, planning) Works closely with analytics team to apply findings to client media programs (e.g., online optimizations) Clearly articulates / presents ideas internally, present portions of external presentations as appropriate Meets with appropriate media companies, contribute as warranted Monitors trade publications for new media trends. Maintains media library and media kit file. Assists the broader team in new business as warranted Owns any other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor Skills Employee must have: a proficiency in MS Office, possess strong mathematical / analytical skills, illustrate a proven ability to think creatively, value the importance of paying attention to the details, be able to effectively manage multiple tasks at any given time, value the importance of teamwork.
