Qualifications: In order to facilitate the learning experience, the candidate should be seeking a career journalism, should be self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects. Spanish bilingual a plus but not required.

Duties: Turner’s Students @ Work Internships are paid at minimum-wage and structured to last approximately 12 weeks after the Spring 2012 school semester ends. Generally interns will work from June 4th through August 10th. Resume and Cover Letter are required. Students should have a strong academic record (GPA 3.0 or above strongly preferred). Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship. Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to the beginning of the internship if accepted to the program. Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.

Internship Description

CNN Heroes interns will be responsible for supporting producers, associate producers and production assistants throughout the production of CNN Heroes packages. Interns will attend all weekly planning meetings. They will learn to use CNN’s databases to access video, conduct research and communicate with other departments within the company. Main responsibilities include logging, transcribing, research, dubbing, assisting with administrative tasks and searching for video and sound. Interns are encouraged to pitch ideas.
