Intern Job Description
The Tobacco Farm Life Museum is a Non-Profit organization that began in 1983. The Mission of the Museum is to preserve and present the history of the rural farming communities in North Carolina from the late 1800’s to mid 1900’s. The Board of Directors and Staff are striving to increase awareness of the significance of the small rural farming communities and knowledge of the Museum to individuals across the state. We are seeking college interns who will help the Museum with current and future social media/communication programming.

Job Tasks
-Maintain social network communications
-Assist with existing and new public events and programs
-Assist with gift shop design and merchandising
-Assist with media communication and advertising
-Assist with routine tasks as necessary
Interns will be presented with projects that can be used to create a professional portfolio. They will also assist with daily tasks that will give them an opportunity to have a clear understanding of Museum management and programming.
The Tobacco Farm Life Museum is open from 9:30am-5:00pm Tuesday-Saturday, and can provide some flexibility as to hours worked and work that can be done off-site.
