Summer 2012 Basketball Operations Internship – Charlotte Bobcats (Charlotte, NC)

Bobcats Sports & Entertainment seeks a Basketball Operations intern who will be:

  • Assisting Basketball Operations staff with daily administrative tasks
  • Managing merchandise database and inventory items
  • Assisting with team projects and spreadsheets
  • Assisting with preseason and regular season duties
  • Assisting with other projects, errands and game day responsibilities as assigned

Pursuit of a Sports Management, Business Administration or related degree is preferred.

The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, be professional and be able to multi-task. Applicant must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Any experience working for a team, athletic department, or with a sporting event is beneficial. Also, it will be beneficial if the candidate has been a basketball team manager. Candidate must have basketball knowledge.

This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive academic credit.

The candidate will have to be in the office between 30-40 hours a week. The intern will need to attend all home Basketball games.

Summer 2012 Database Marketing Intern – Charlotte Bobcats (Charlotte, NC)

Bobcats Sports & Entertainment seeks a Database Marketing intern who’s responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting data, analyzing it, and making recommendations based off of your findings. You’ll be working directly with our Database Marketing Manager on a number of revenue analysis projects throughout your time here.
  • Keeping the integrity of our data intact.
  • A number of projects on the computer every day. You’ll be working with these programs quite frequently: Excel, Access, Outlook, Microsoft CRM.

The ideal candidate is someone who has advanced computer knowledge or any kind of database management experience. If you’ve worked before with any CRM system or perhaps built databases in Access that is also a benefit.

This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive college credit.

Summer 2012 Basketball Communications/PR Internship – Charlotte Bobcats (Charlotte, NC)

Bobcats Sports & Entertainment seeks an intern who will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining media lists
  • Assisting with creating and distributing media credentials
  • Assisting with research, writing and editing of media releases as necessary
  • Distributing public relations material to staff and fans as requested
  • Organizing and archiving media clippings
  • Responding to media inquiries
  • Miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Pursuit of a Communications or Public Relations degree is preferred.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and writing skills. Previous experience in a college sports information office, school newspaper, internship with a sports team or campus athletic department is preferred. Candidate should have experience with sports writing, research, feature writing and transcription. The candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Word. Knowledge of basketball game statistics is also a plus.

This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive academic credit. The candidate should be, but not limiting to, a junior, senior or graduate level student.

This internship will require that the student is in the office approximately 30-40 hours a week and attend all Bobcats basketball games.
