The Fox Advertising Sales internship is a robust program that allows interns to learn all aspects of Ad Sales in the entertainment industry. Students will learn about career paths through information they receive in our executive speaker series events. They will gain behind the scenes business knowledge during our Ad Sales 101 courses. Interns are assigned to various departments within our Sports and Entertainment groups where they will shadow team members with their day-to-day workloads. In addition to this, our interns will gain hands on presentation skills as they work to develop a sales pitch throughout the summer semester.

Here are a few our intern’s responsibilities:

• Shadow department activities while team members: place orders; track future events in coordination with Sales Planning; administer and update confirmation orders; assist in acquiring programming and ratings research information
• Learn how to service Advertising agencies through sales by observing sales teams as they solve discrepancies and provide information that will allow spots to air correctly
• Learn how sales teams maximize inventory by ensuring log accuracy
• Shadow Sales Assistants while they review logs to help resolve oversell, open time, product conflicts, separation issues and units that have been rejected due to schedule changes
• Shadow Account Executives and learn how they negotiate deals from start to finish
