Description:
This internship is designed to provide the successful candidate with relevant on-the-job experience and training, and provide a broad overview of the broadcasting industry from a financial perspective. Under the direction of the Director of Financial Shared Services, this position will assist the financial and accounting staff with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules, including variance analysis and research, with an emphasis on divisional allocations and intercompany activity for multiple operating units.
The internship position will be located at and partnered with an appropriate mentor at the Hearst Television, Inc business office in Charlotte, NC.

- Gain/enhance understanding of work environment and professional responsibilities
- Prepare, edit and analyze Excel spreadsheets for variance explanations; compute formulas/formats
- Research and verify data on various records and reports
- Various administrative responsibilities: filing, typing, scanning, faxing and photocopying
- Use of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and accounting software programs
- Support professional staff with tasks related to daily business operations

- Highly detail oriented and organized
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding Microsoft Excel skills.
Education:
Education:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution; student in good standing as determined by HTV internship requirements.
- Major course of study in the field of Accounting, Finance, or related business focus.
