Communications Summer 2012 Internship – New York Islanders Hockey Club (Uniondale, NY) The communications intern will perform general office and game/event duties, which include but are not limited to: filing newspaper clippings, researching and maintaining statistics, editing media guides, assisting in preparation for press conferences, handing out event/game credentials and maintaining press box when necessary. Interns will be expected to attend all events to assist in editing and writing the post-event/game press releases and distribute details to members of the press. Interns will learn the importance of digital media as well as print media. This is a great opportunity for any aspiring journalist or public relations student to add to their portfolio by writing articles for hockey related events, community relations events and business press releases. A strong background in writing AP Style is recommended. Video experience as far as shooting and editing packages is not a requirement but highly regarded.To be considered for an internship, you must include the following:
