NOTE: This internship is based in Doha, Qatar. Because of its location a valid driver’s license and willingness to drive is required. Office hours of the Brookings Doha Center (BDC) often require an evening segment for coordination with Washington, events, and other purposes. Internships are unpaid, and require a minimum time commitment of 15 hours per week. BDC will not pay for any international travel or accommodation in Doha. BDC will pay up to QR 700/month to facilitate local transportation. BASIC FUNCTION Fall 2012/Spring 2013 Internship Brookings Doha Center Foreign Policy Program Current Opportunity The Brookings Doha Center (BDC) is seeking part-time interns for Fall 2012/Spring 2013 to assist Center researchers and staff. Interns provide vital assistance to scholars and staff in assembling research materials, tracking news media, organizing events, maintaining the Center’s extensive database, handling press requests, and providing administrative support. Interns will assist Center researchers and staff in the following areas: Qualifications The Center seeks candidates with a demonstrated interest in Middle East politics and/or U.S. foreign policy in the region. Both undergraduates and graduate students in Middle East studies or international affairs are encouraged to apply. A strong academic background, writing and research skills, and knowledge of Arabic are highly desirable.
