Sports Marketing, PR, and Entertainment PR Internships – Octagon – Atlanta, GA & McLean, VA

Marketing/PR: The Marketing/PR Intern will work in our Football Division and get introduced to the business world of Football off the field. This is a great opportunity for a passionate, creative and driven undergraduate or graduate student who wishes to further his/her business interests in sports and gain some hands-on sports marketing experience. Throughout the course of the internship, you will work closely with a Football agent and assist in a variety of challenging and interesting projects. You will be assisting with creating presentation materials, marketing research, marketing calls, organizing marketing plans/ proposal and schedule media requests, appearances, events etc. for our clients.

The position is located in our office in Atlanta, GA and is a part-time or full-time position during the Fall. Ideally, we would like you to work 25+ hours per week. In order to be considered for this unpaid internship, you must be able to receive school credit and provide proof of credit.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate students; graduate students preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task proficiently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and market research tools
  • Must receive school credit
  • Prior experience working in sports, marketing, sales or public relations is a plus

Entertainment PR/Marketing: The Entertainment PR/Marketing Intern will work in our First Call Division and get introduced to the world of celebrity consulting . This is a great opportunity for the passionate, creative and driven undergraduate or graduate student who wishes to further his/her business interests in entertainment, music and pop culture. You will gain a compelling and insightful look into how corporations and brands utilize celebrities in their endorsement activities. Throughout the course of the internship, you will complete a variety of different tasks such as research celebrities and create client bios, input research into and extract information from our proprietary celebrity database, research and creation of talent recommendations for various projects and proposals, contribute to our monthly newsletter, help maintain our social media/digital projects and learn about celebrity endorsements. The position is located in our McLean, VA office and is available during the Fall Semester. In order to be considered for this unpaid internship, you must be able to receive school credit and provide proof of credit.

Requirements:
Must receive school credit

Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in public relations, communications, marketing, management, journalism or any other entertainment or business related degree

Pop culture savvy and an interest in the celebrity endorsement world

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Resourceful and a proven track record of an intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving

Solid knowledge of MS office suite tools (Work, Excel and PowerPoint) and experience using various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter)

Previous Experience in the Entertainment Industry is a plus

PR: The Public Relations Intern will work in our Athlete and Property Marketing Division and get introduced to the world of sports and entertainment marketing. This is a great opportunity for the passionate, creative and driven undergraduate or graduate student who wishes to further his/her business interests in entertainment and sports and gain some hand-on Public Relation experience. Throughout the course of the internship, you will work closely with our PR team and have the ability to draft press releases and pitches, update athlete bios, write company newsletters, and gain valuable insight into the rapidly changing world of sports public relations.

The position is located in our headquarters’ office in McLean, VA, and is part-time during the Fall Semester. Ideally, we would like you to work at least 25 hours per week and be able to work in the office three full days. In order to be considered for this unpaid internship, you must be able to receive school credit and provide proof of credit.

Requirements:

  • Graduate or undergraduate Student pursuing a degree in Communications/PR
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task proficiently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Must receive school credit
  • Previous internship experience in PR is a plus
