Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) owns and operates three professional sports teams: the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. Monumental, which merged Lincoln Holdings and Washington Sports & Entertainment on June 10, 2010, also owns and operates Verizon Center, the premier sports and entertainment venue in Washington, D.C. Additionally, the group operates Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the Capitals’ state-of-the-art training facility in Arlington, Va., and George Mason University’s Patriot Center, located in Fairfax, Va.
Internships are solely based on college credit only and are unpaid. This internship is located at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC to start preferably at the beginning of the Fall Semester.
The main focus of this position is to work closely with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team to support marketing and sales database initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Assist with e-mail marketing and sales database efforts.
Assist with updating MSE’s CRM (Customer Relationship Management) databases to ensure:
a) contact and account changes are properly noted;
b) new accounts are added to the database; and
c) changes to accounts, including ownership changes, revenue figures, etc., are reflected.
Assist in coordination and logistics planning for CRM release events, including internal pilots and staff training.
Coordinate and assist in development and maintenance of CRM communications, training materials, and job aids, including FAQ’s, and best practices.
Experience:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Organized, thorough, and detail oriented.
Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong team spirit
Good analytical skills
Positive mindset
Education:
Currently enrolled as a full time college student with a focus in Marketing, Programming, Computer Science, Statistics or business related field preferred.
1-2 years office experience preferred.
Must be an upper classman.
