PR Internship – Cooking Channel – NYC

Cooking Channel’s Public Relations team is currently looking for an intern. During this internship, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn about the Public Relations field by:

Updating, tracking and researching contacts for press lists including print, radio, TV, online and blogs.

Assisting in the production of materials for mailings (press kits, tape dubbing, artwork production).

Assisting with network events, PR photo and video shoots where applicable.

Organizing new photography and assisting with keeping database of existing photography uploaded and filed.

Aiding in gathering information for monthly highlights release and help draft if appropriate.

Updating bios, one-sheets and materials for press kits.

The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas: Public Relations Mass Media Communications Broadcasting Journalism Journalism English/Literature During this internship, the intern will have the opportunity to learn how to communicate brand and corporate messaging both written and verbal. Writing skills will be finely tuned for all manner of formats and projects. The intern will also be exposed to working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and will hone their interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task. Upon successful completion of the Cooking Channel PR internship, the intern will have the opportunity to have a written press kit with all components composed by them and media placements clips.
