FEATURES REPORTING INTERN
The Brunswick News
Brunswick, Ga.
Brunswick, Ga.
The Brunswick News, a daily newspaper on the Georgia coast, is accepting applications for a features reporter in its C.H. Leavy Internship program. The C.H. Leavy Internship, named for the founder and previous editors of the family-owned newspaper, is an opportunity for an entry-level reporter, who may or may not have had a previous internship, to develop the skills necessary to become a successful reporter and to develop an understanding of overall newspaper operations. The position will involve writing feature stories covering a range of topics, preparing community news and updating events calendars.
The C.H. Leavy Internship is a paid, one-year internship. It includes paid time off. As is typical with internships, it is not included in the newspaper’s health insurance policy. While the internship carries no promise of full-time employment after its completion, successful interns would be considered for employment whenever a suitable position could become available.
If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please apply by e-mail to Mr. Kerry Klumpe, managing editor, atinternship@thebrunswicknews.com. Your attachments or links should include a brief cover letter, resume and up to five published or unpublished examples of stories — feature or news — you have written.
