Website Design Internship
Job Description
The Five Prime Media Group, affiliated with WECU-1570AM radio, is currently seeking a positive, motivated website design intern to be part of an emerging healthcare social media team. This unpaid internship is an ideal opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience at a growing dynamic organization that is positioned strategically for the future. (There may be opportunities for compensation on certain projects.)
The responsibilities will include transferring and maintaining the content on new and existing static sites. This position will assist with customizing the master and layout pages, integrating custom web parts, setting up workflows and permissions, developing and coding information, integrating with IT systems, and connecting back-end data systems to the sites.
In addition to generating code and updating links the intern may:
– Update information on websites or databases linked to other sites and check links to verify operation.
– Ensure websites are easy to navigate and user needs addressed.
– Monitor, improve, and update the performance of existing websites by visiting sites, tracking pages, and evaluating features and links used.
– Enhance the products and services provided to customers and learn about associated marketing policies and sales objectives.
– Need to maximize effectiveness of e-commerce sites that may sell products and contain shopping cart software.
Required Qualifications:
1. Current enrollment in either a community college or a university.
2. Web development experience using commercial software & tools (i.e., Adobe Dreamweaver, Apple iWeb). Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is helpful.
3. Experience designing and developing sites, libraries, pages, web parts, forms and workflows web-based solutions.
4. Desire to learn, work and communicate with others in a dynamic organization.
